Are you one of those people who postpone things because you think you don’t have the time right now? Sometimes it can be helpful to take a short break from work to do other things so that you can then continue more effectively. The Lumberjack Story is a great lesson on priorities.

How about you? Are you so busy with your task – your life and your work – that you don’t even notice how much faster you could get ahead with a sharper ax (new knowledge and new skills)?
The story of the lumberjack shows in a humorous way the irrational effects that poor preparation can lead to.
Especially when you have a lot of dreams, you shouldn’t neglect planning. Prioritize your tasks and rely on the SMART-system to be as productive as possible. That doesn’t mean you have to become a perfectionist. But you should take time regularly (at least once a month) to briefly check whether you are still working productively. If this is not the case, you should improve the way you work as soon as possible.
